He grabbed her by the neck after she criticised his appearance

A man grabbed his partner by the neck and poured cold water over her, threatening to silence her forever after she criticised him over his appearance.
lucyna Rezulska’s face was so swollen during the attack at the hands of Marek Piatek that doctors were at first unsure whether her nose was broken.
Kirklees magistrates heard that following the New Year’s Eve assault at the Paddockaddress, terrified Ms Rezulska has been forced to barricade her door with an ironing board.
Polish born Piatek was found guilty of assault after a trial, claiming that his partner of three year’s injuries were caused by falling into a bathroom cabinet.
During his sentencing hearing at the Huddersfield court the 62-year-old still refused to accept responsibility, claiming that his ex was nothing but an “actress”.
Prosecutor Alex Bozman told the Huddersfield court that the incident happened at the couple’s home in Granby Flats on December 31 last year.
Ms Rezulska had returned home from work at 11pm and a heated argument developed over Piatek’s appearance, resulting in him punching her in the face.
Mr Bozman said: “She left the room but he followed, pushed her to the ground and hit her in the head and face again.”
At that point her nose started to bleed and she went into the bathroom to try and stem the blood flow.
Kirklees Magistrates' Court, Huddersfield.

Mr Bozman told magistrates: “The defendant grabbed her by the neck, bent her over the bath and used the shower head to pour cold water over her body.
“He left for a bit then returned to the bathroom and made a remark that if she didn’t stop crying he’d make her quiet forever.”
Ms Rezulska fled to her daughter’s home and Piatek was arrested.
Her injuries were described as a swollen and bloodshot left eye, bloodied nose and scratches to her neck.
Magistrates heard that when she attended at hospital her nose was so swollen that doctors couldn’t tell if it was broken or not.
Mr Bozman said: “She’s now afraid of leaving the house, particularly when it’s dark outside as she’s got the feeling that someone is following her.
“She has problems sleeping in the bedroom where the offence took place and has used an ironing board as a barricade against the front door to give her warning in terms of anybody entering the property.
