19-year-old says "I'm young, I messed up."

A Golcar teenager who sexually assaulted a female police officer while tripping on LSD has been ordered to sign the sex offender’s register for three years.
Liam Smith groped the officer as she tried to help him after his concerned friends contacted the emergency services.
The 19-year-old said he was disgusted by his actions which left the officer feeling shocked and violated.
He apologised directly to the officer after his hearing at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court – and warned other teenagers against taking drugs.
Smith, of Upper Wellhouse, told the Examiner: “I’m young, I messed up but I’ve learned from my mistakes.
“I pushed it too far and I’m disgusted and in disbelief as I didn’t believe I was capable of such things.
“I couldn’t remember anything of what happened and combination of drink and drugs should not be mixed.
“I want to say sorry to the officer – it’s not normal behaviour from me and I’m not that sort of person.”
Smith had pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual assault on a female.
Ben Crosland, prosecuting, told the Huddersfield court that on May 15 the officer and a male colleague were called to assist paramedics at an address in Holmfirth.
Mr Crosland said: “The defendant was in a bizarre state of mind in which they concluded was brought about by the intake of a controlled drug.
“They found the defendant on the landing.
“He was extremely excitable and had no clothes on the top half of his body. His pupils were dilated and large and there was spittal by his mouth.”
Smith was approached by the officers but tried to walk away.
As they took hold of him he made an unpleasant comment towards the female officer before grabbing between her legs.
The officer jumped back immediately and her colleague helped restrain Smith and handcuff him.
Mr Crosland told magistrates: “The officer felt shocked, embarrassed and violated by the defendant’s actions.
“She was there in a welfare context after being summoned by the ambulance service.”
