Driver's warning to others after being landed with parking fine in Asda car park
Fatih Udin got the fine dropped after making his case to car park owner Horizon Ltd but fears others may be hit
A driver who said he was wrongly fined in a supermarket car park has demanded action.
Fatih Udin said that a camera used to monitor cars entering and leaving the Asda Aspley store failed to spot him leaving on a visit, resulting in a £70 charge.
Mr Udin, of Victoria Road in Lockwood, said he had visited the store in his vehicle once in the morning, left in it and returned again in the evening.
But on the fine letter sent to him, car park owner Horizon Ltd alleged that he had left his car in the car park for the entire day, overstaying the one and a half hour limit.
He complained to the company and the charge has been dropped, but was warned in a letter that the same may not happen in the future.
He wants Horizon Ltd to resolve the problem, which he thinks could cause innocent but vulnerable people to pay up out of fear.
“I was really confused when I was sent the letter,” said Mr Udin, 49.
“The entire duration of both my visits was about 20 minutes.
